| Résumé : | Sept ans après son album de la consécration, "Careless Love", qui s'était écoulé à plus de deux millions d'albums dans le monde et deux après son dernier "Bareless Bones", Madeleine Peyroux sort son nouvel album "Standing on the Rooftop". Produit par Craig Street (Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson…), ce cinquième album studio voit Madeleine Peyroux s'écarter un peu de ses habitudes. Avec des featurings de Marc Ribot (guitare), Me'Shell Ndegeocello (basse) ou d’Allen Toussaint (piano), autour d'habitués des studios comme le batteur Charley Drayton (Neil Young, Johnny Cash) ou le guitariste Chris Bruce (Seal, John Legend), ce nouvel opus s’avère en effet être plus roots qu'à l'accoutumée. L’essentiel du répertoire à été composé par Peyroux à l’exception de quelques reprises (Bob Dylan "Threw It All Away", Robert Johnson "Love in Vain", et The Beatles "Martha, My Dear"). |
